“ This was the first time I've done a tea & chocolate tasting. Yes, the focus was on the tea, Chocolate Vitale brand, some yummy blends, subtle aromas and flavors. There was a handout about how humans experience 'flavors'. Smell vs. taste. Interesting how coffee, chocolate and garlic lend themselves to smell for quick identification, but without smell they are difficult to identify. Many of the teas had enticing aromas but then tasting them brought a not a completely different taste but often an added enhancement that wasn't noticed with just the smell. I think this is a new area to be explored more. I can see where the connoisseurship pf tea tasting will experience a renaissance like the wine industry. Just needs a couple more decades. Unfortunately, there wasn't much variety of the chocolate samples, just a generic milk and dark from one specific company. Nothing to write home about. But it did help bring out contrasts in the tea. A lot of fun and a great group of people showed up! ”
