This is not an official Chocolate Meetup, but our friend Bryan Kane of Sol Rouge Winery and the Winery Collective shop near the Cannery is having this Chocolate and Wine event on June 2nd with Brix Chocolate, so we thought we'd share it with you:

founder of Brix Chocolate, Dr. Nick Proia, will be present at the event to discuss how a simple "doctorly" observation on the health benefits of red wine and dark chocolate turned into a search for the perfect wine pairing chocolate. We will be pairing six different boutique wines with the three different specifically chosen chocolates: milk, medium dark, and extra dark chocolate.

We couldn't think of a better place to host this happy hour event than the Winery Collective - the first multi-winery tasting room in San Francisco that focuses on boutique wineries. If we went through the trouble of finding the best chocolate, we knew we needed to find the best wines to pair. Winery Collective provides a unique experience allowing you to taste wines from dozens of small wineries across California right in the heart of San Francisco.

This Meetup was suggested by Amy M.

Per Amy:

This looks good: TCHO Chocolate Tasting Saturday, April 11th, 11AM - 2PM You may have heard about TCHO. It is the only chocolate making company left in San Francisco. Founded by one of the executives from Wired Magazine and other techies, TCHO takes a novel approach to "grading" the chocolates. Rather than grading on origin or cocoa content, the focus is on pulling out specific natural flavors inherent in the beans; there is no citrus added to the "Citrus," fruit added to the "Fruity" or nuts in the "Nutty." (Full disclosure -- there IS chocolate in the "Chocolatey.")

Come meet some of the incredible people that work there, and see which is your favorite at a very special (Free!) tasting.
