Per Amy:

This looks good: TCHO Chocolate Tasting Saturday, April 11th, 11AM - 2PM You may have heard about TCHO. It is the only chocolate making company left in San Francisco. Founded by one of the executives from Wired Magazine and other techies, TCHO takes a novel approach to "grading" the chocolates. Rather than grading on origin or cocoa content, the focus is on pulling out specific natural flavors inherent in the beans; there is no citrus added to the "Citrus," fruit added to the "Fruity" or nuts in the "Nutty." (Full disclosure -- there IS chocolate in the "Chocolatey.")

Come meet some of the incredible people that work there, and see which is your favorite at a very special (Free!) tasting.

I live right off 280 in San Bruno. Anyone coming down 280 want to car pool?

    •  I guess I might have had the wrong expectations as to what this was to be. I had expectations that this was a meetup of people interested in chocolate that involved a place where chocolate was made that involved cooling instructions of some kind. The write-up said: “This looks good: TCHO Chocolate Tasting Saturday, April 11th, 11AM - 2PM” “Have Fun Cooking, Stuart and the Toque Blanche Staff” It was a distance to go to Half Moon Bay and I made two attempts to find someone to car pool with, including emailing the leader with no response. I did drive over to Half Moon Bay and even arrived early. The reality was that this was a store that invited different vendors in on Saturdays to demo their goods. This Saturday it was a chocolate vendor who gave a three minute talk on why their chocolate was good and let you sample it. That was it. No one from meetup showed up other than me and I stayed till 11:30. Not the best use of my Saturday. Pete Antoniak
